Ok, I woke up early today (7:30 AM) and came to office to finish the virtual laptop for imaging machine build [Denver Datacenter]. mondo/mindi on RHEL4 and Ghost on 2K Server works from the same laptop and i tested out couple of images on the rackable and hp dl machines. However, vmware server is slow. I know it because ESX failed badly in our earlier tests with IBM.
I like Xen and its fast. Best part is the memory footprint and resource usage used by the guest OS is very very low. But, what is common is.... with SATA drives do not think of virtualization whatever emulation it maybe, scsi/ide. I/O is pathetic. SAS should be the min storage technology used or fiber.
Ok, i blabbered a lot. I need to leave office in another 30 mins, go to the corp apartment to pick up Prashant and then pick up Bibek from Airport.
